Come right in!
Surrounded by forests and fields, the Loosdorf Castle is hidden in the hilly landscape of the northern Weinviertel which is one of the most important wine producing areas in Austria. It is one of the oldest fortifications in Lower Austria and is surrounded by biodynamic agriculture.
Various paths lead through the fields, on which poppies and flax, sunflowers and crops blossom. While taking a walk, let yourself be inspired by the “literary marked paths”. So-called “offene Kellertüren” (engl. ‘open cellar doors’) and “Heuriger” (taverns selling new vine) tempt to step in and stay for a while.
In the Loosdorf Castle, a small museum, which not only holds one of the largest private pewter figures collections in Austria but also notable reminiscences of the occupation period after the Second World War, awaits you.
The yearly castle concerts offer exclusive music from classical performances to jazz in a lovely atmosphere.
