Protecting your personal data matters to us. We process your data solely on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG). This page explains which data are processed when you visit this website and when you request an appointment.

Hosting and server log files
This website is operated by a hosting provider with whom we have concluded a data processing agreement. Whenever a page is accessed, the server automatically stores technical data: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the previously visited page, browser and operating system.
These data are used solely to operate the website securely and reliably and to defend against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest, unless they are needed to investigate a security incident.
Cookies
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, nor any audience measurement services. WordPress sets technically necessary cookies only for logged-in editors. No consent is required for this.
Online booking of viewings
If you request a viewing appointment via the calendar, we process the following details:
- name and email address
- phone number and note, if you provide them
- requested date and language of the request
- time of the request and its processing history (confirmation, decline, emails sent)
The purpose is to arrange and carry out the viewing and to advise you on your wedding. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You will receive an acknowledgement and, after we have checked the date, a confirmation with a calendar entry or a decline by email. The emails are sent via our email provider.
Your request is deleted automatically 12 months after the appointment, unless it leads to a rental agreement. Statutory retention periods apply to a contract (for example seven years for invoices under the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code).
To protect against spam, the form contains an invisible field and a timing check. To prevent too many requests within a short time, a non-reversible check value (hash) is derived from your IP address and kept for a maximum of one hour. We do not store the IP address itself.
Contact and wedding brochure
If you contact us by email or phone or request the wedding brochure, we process your details in order to respond to your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We delete the data once your enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations require longer storage.
Videos from YouTube
If we show videos from YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, they are only loaded once you click on the video. Before that, no data are transferred to YouTube.
After your click, the video is loaded in privacy-enhanced mode via youtube-nocookie.com. Google then receives, in particular, your IP address and information about the video played. Google may also transfer data to the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is your consent given by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Further information can be found in Google’s privacy policy.
Links to maps, social networks and share buttons
Route planning (Google Maps), Instagram and the share buttons in our posts (WhatsApp, Facebook, Pinterest, email) are simple links. No data are transferred to these providers when you view our pages. Only when you click such a link does the provider’s page open, and its privacy policy then applies.
Fonts, images and files
Fonts, images and documents are loaded directly from our server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other external font service.
Castle website
Information about the castle, the Broken Collection and the farm can be found on the castle’s website. A separate privacy policy applies there.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing of your data, the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. Simply write to us at office@piatti.at.
If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Datenschutzbehörde (Data Protection Authority), Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
